KEVIN ANGLADE (Founder/President) is an emerging writer, hip-hop poet, actor, and educator from Queens, New York. He published his first book, Tales of the 23rd Precinct (a short-story collection) through his indie press, Flowered Concrete in January of 2013. Moreover, Anglade was featured on NBC's final season of The Debrief with David Ushery in 2014 where he provided insight and purpose about his press as a small publisher in NYC. Anglade holds an A.S. in Theatre, B.A. in English, and is currently pursuing his M.A. in English at Queens College. When he isn't writing or performing, the artist enjoys music, a good ol' stand-up comedy routine and just about anything that keeps his heart light and void of harmful energy. Life Comes From Concrete (2016) is his first poetry memoir.
NICHOLAS NICHOLS (Acquisitions Editor) is a 23 year-old poet and photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. He is a Brooklyn College alumnus and is an original founding member of their Slam Team, a Black and Latino Male Initiative (B.L.M.I.) ambassador, a photography team member of Hillsong NYC, a 2015 Watering Hole Fellow, and a National Black Writers Conference (at Medgar Evers College CUNY) Committee member. Nichols was also awarded fellowships for Cave Canem and Callallo in 2016. Currently, he is working on his manuscript and hopes to impact and build community as he continues to grow as a person and artist.
MIA HILL (MARKETING/MEDIA) Hill is a 20 year-old marketer that currently attends Howard University in Washington, D.C. where she is obtaining her B.A. in International Business with a concentration in Marketing. As Marketing/Media director, Hill organizes and brands all media files for the company. Furthermore, she also collaborates and communicates with writers, poets, and designers that work with the press in order to best execute their vision. In addition to her daily tasks, for the indie press, she's also in the process of constructing her own branding/marketing agency called Beyond The Hill Enterprise, scheduled to launch sometime in 2017. Hill's passion as well as drive is what keeps the visual aesthetics of the company in view and at large.
